STAFF APPRAISAL TRAINING

 

This course prepares all staff who are to be appraised for the introduction of the process.

 

In order to monitor and evaluate an individual’s performance, development and training needs, a supervisor or manager will agree a set of objectives with each individual. The staff member will then work towards achieving these objectives within a specified timescale.

 

COURSE OVERVIEW

 

AIMS

To introduce a Staff Appraisal System, sometimes referred to as a Performance Development Review (PDR) process so that it can be carried out effectively.

 

OBJECTIVES

By the end of this session, staff will be able to:

 

· Discuss hopes, concerns and expectations of the system

· Explore the positive outcomes of effective communication in terms of personal and professional development.

· Carry out their roles and responsibilities in the PDR process

· Understand the benefits of the PDR process

· Contribute to the agreement of SMART performance priorities for themselves

· Identify and collate data relevant to their own performance

· Prepare for a Staff Appraisal or PDR meeting

· Identify performance needs and translate those into actions

· Have a full understanding of the relevance of Equal Opportunities.
