This course is best suited for those who are established Managers and Leaders who wish to continue their development .

Management and leadership are different but linked. Successful leadership is underpinned by sound management. The performance of most people in managerial positions (Team Leaders, Supervisors, Managers, Directors, CEO’s etc) is monitored and judged on managerial criteria. The ‘trick’ is to realise that combining management activities with leadership activities leads to better results.

The most crucial aspects of being a leader are having the ability to be assertive, persuasive, considerate, resilient self confident etc. These abilities do not come naturally to everyone. As we develop them, however, the ‘leading’ part of our job becomes easier, more effective and more satisfying.

Our overall aim is to create a learning environment to help you look inwardly and honestly in order to identify your own areas for development, this will enhance your skills as managers and allow you to develop your leadership abilities.

This course will identify your current style allowing you to explore it great depth.  A series of fully, and expertly briefed, debriefed and linked exercises, both indoor and outdoor, will encourage you to positively question your approach and to develop new improved leadership and management skills.

You will be working in a supportive environment where you will be able to observe the style of others. You will be encouraged to give and receive feedback to and from others with the aim of generating further development. You will be required to lead at least one of the course exercises and to complete 2 written reflections concerning your performance. You will receive 2 private tutorials with a development consultant and will leave the course with a Continued Development Plan (CDP)
