SUPERVISORS & MANAGERS APPRAISAL TRAINING

 

In order to monitor and evaluate an individual’s performance, development and training needs, you will need to agree a set of objectives with each individual. The staff member will then work towards achieving these objectives within a specified timescale. This course prepares all supervisors and managers, who will be appraising their staff.

 

COURSE OVERVIEW

 

This course examines the benefits of the appraisal process and encourages supervisors and managers to motivate and develop their staff using objective setting based upon your company’s business aims and objectives. It will equip those attending to define the performance they require from their staff and set motivating and clear performance priorities, provide positive and developmental feedback and identify training needs.

 

AIMS

To introduce the Staff Appraisal or Performance Development Review (PDR) process so that it can be carried out effectively.

 

OBJECTIVES

 

By the end of this session, Supervisors and Managers will be able to:

 

· Carry out their roles and responsibilities in the PDR process

· Understand the benefits of the PDR process to their business, its managers and supervisors and the individuals being appraised.

· Relate the concept of Performance Management to the company.

· Set Performance priorities for individuals using SMART principles

· Implement continuous and objective management of the performance of staff reporting to them

· Prepare for and undertake a PDR meeting

· Give feedback to staff regarding performance

· Identify performance needs and translate those into actions

· Have a full understanding of the relevance of Equal Opportunities.
